TradingPlace Product FAQ for Futures Prop Traders

TradingPlace is a trade execution and account management tool for prop traders managing multiple accounts. Instead of logging into separate platforms for each account, you control everything from one dashboard — group execution, risk automation, compliance tools, and a live indicator chart, all in one place.
TradingPlace works with any prop firm that connects through Tradovate, Rithmic, or WealthCharts — including Apex, TopStep, Funded Next, and many others. If your prop firm uses one of these execution platforms, it should work with TradingPlace.
Currently supported: ES / MES (S&P 500 E-mini and Micro), NQ / MNQ (Nasdaq E-mini and Micro), and GC / MGC (Gold and Micro Gold).
No. TradingPlace is software that connects to your existing accounts through Tradovate, Rithmic, or WealthCharts. We do not hold funds, execute trades directly, or act as a broker. All trades are executed through your prop firm's connection to their broker.
When you sign up, we place a hold on your card but don't charge it for 3 days. You get full access to all features during this time. If you cancel within 3 days, you won't be charged. After 3 days, your card is charged and your subscription begins.
We do not offer refunds. This is why we provide the 3-day trial — use it to make sure TradingPlace is right for you before the charge goes through.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and you'll be charged the difference prorated. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
If you try to add more accounts than your plan allows, you'll be prompted to upgrade. Your existing connected accounts continue to work normally.
Platinum is the top-tier plan and adds features designed for full-time traders:
- Live chart trading — trade directly from the indicator chart at
/portal/chart.html - Live ticker prices — real-time price display in the portal header
- Higher account limits and priority support
See the pricing page for the full feature comparison across all plans.
Escape cancels pending (unfilled) orders only. If you placed limit orders that haven't filled yet, Escape cancels them. It does not close open positions.
Flatten All is the emergency button — it closes all open positions and cancels all pending orders across all accounts. Use it when you need to exit everything immediately.
Sell Half closes 50% of the position in each selected account proportionally. If Account A has 8 contracts it closes 4; if Account B has 3 contracts it closes 1 (rounded down). The math is done automatically so you don't have to calculate while the market is moving.
Most prop firms prohibit being long and short the same contract in the same account simultaneously. TradingPlace enforces this automatically — if you're long and click Sell, it first closes the long before opening the short. This prevents accidental violations that can get an account banned.
If you need to hit a specific balance to pass an evaluation or trigger a payout (e.g., $53,000), Target Balance Lock-In monitors your equity in real-time. The moment your balance touches that number — even on a wick — it closes the position and locks in the profit. Humans are slow; this isn't.
The main cockpit is account-centric — you manage multiple accounts, symbols, and signals from one dashboard. The live chart (/portal/chart.html) is chart-centric: a full-screen view for reading price action with TradingPlace indicators and executing directly from that context via a chart trader panel.
Both connect to the same live accounts. Live chart trading is a Platinum feature. See the Live Chart Trading docs for full details.
Yes. All risk controls — daily loss limits, trailing stops, news protection, and market close protection — apply regardless of whether you enter trades from the main cockpit or the live chart. The chart does not bypass any safety layer.
Yes. Each account has its own independent risk settings. You can set different daily loss limits, daily profit targets, and trailing stop thresholds for each account — useful when accounts are at different evaluation stages or have different DPL rules from your prop firm.
Yes, if you enable News Protection. When active, it automatically blocks new order submissions around scheduled high-impact news events. You can configure how many minutes before and after an event the block applies. See the News Protection docs for setup details.
Your credentials are used to establish a connection and are handled securely with industry-standard encryption. Passwords are not stored in plain text. The connection to your broker is maintained through secure API tokens after the initial authentication.
TradingPlace sends orders to your broker — it does not hold your positions. If our service experiences downtime, you can still manage positions directly through Tradovate, Rithmic, WealthCharts, or your prop firm's platform. Always keep your prop firm's platform accessible as a backup during live trading.
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari (latest versions). Chrome is recommended for the best experience. Mobile browsers are supported but a desktop or laptop is strongly recommended for active trading.
Yes. The portal runs in any browser tab or window. A common setup is to have the main cockpit on one monitor and the live chart (/portal/chart.html) on a second. Both stay live simultaneously and share the same account state.
