Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is TradingPlace?
TradingPlace is a trade execution and account management tool for prop traders managing multiple accounts. Instead of logging into separate platforms for each account, you control everything from one dashboard with group execution, risk management, and compliance tools.
What prop firms are supported?
TradingPlace works with any prop firm that connects through Tradovate, including Apex, TopStep, Funded Next, and many others. If your prop firm uses Tradovate for execution, it should work with TradingPlace.
What instruments can I trade?
Currently we support ES, MES (S&P 500), NQ, MNQ (Nasdaq), GC, and MGC (Gold). We're actively working on adding more instruments based on user feedback.
Is TradingPlace a broker?
No. TradingPlace is a software tool that connects to your existing accounts through Tradovate. We do not hold funds, execute trades directly, or act as a broker in any capacity. All trades are executed through your prop firm's connection to Tradovate.
Account & Billing
How does the 3-day trial work?
When you sign up, we place a hold on your credit card but don't charge it for 3 days. You have full access to all features during this time. If you cancel within 3 days, you won't be charged. After 3 days, your card is charged and your subscription begins.
Can I get a refund?
No, we do not offer refunds. This is why we provide a 3-day trial period - use it to make sure TradingPlace is right for you before the charge goes through.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and you'll be charged the difference prorated. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What happens if I exceed my account limit?
If you try to add more accounts than your plan allows, you'll be prompted to upgrade. Your existing connected accounts will continue to work normally.

What's the difference between Escape and Flatten All?
Escape cancels pending (unfilled) orders only. If you placed limit orders that haven't filled yet, Escape cancels them. It does NOT close open positions.
Flatten All is the emergency button - it closes ALL open positions AND cancels all pending orders across ALL accounts. Use this when things go wrong fast.
Flatten All is the emergency button - it closes ALL open positions AND cancels all pending orders across ALL accounts. Use this when things go wrong fast.
How does Sell Half work across accounts?
Sell Half closes 50% of the position in each selected account proportionally. If Account A has 8 contracts, it closes 4. If Account B has 3 contracts, it closes 1 (rounded down). The math is done automatically so you don't have to calculate while the market is moving.
What is the Opposite Direction Rule?
Most prop firms prohibit being long and short the same contract in the same account simultaneously (hedging). TradingPlace enforces this automatically - if you're long and click Sell, it first closes your long position before opening a short. This prevents accidental violations that could get your account banned.
What does Target Balance Lock-In do?
If you need to hit a specific balance to pass an evaluation or get a payout (e.g., $53,000), Target Balance Lock-In monitors your equity in real-time. The moment your balance touches that number - even for a millisecond on a wick - it automatically closes the position and locks in the profit. Humans are slow; computers are fast.
Technical
Do you store my Tradovate password?
Your credentials are used to establish a connection and are handled securely. We use industry-standard encryption and do not store passwords in plain text. The connection to Tradovate is maintained through secure API tokens.
What happens if TradingPlace goes down?
TradingPlace is a tool that sends orders to Tradovate - it does not hold your positions. If our service experiences downtime, you can still manage your positions directly through Tradovate or your prop firm's platform. This is why we recommend always having your prop firm's platform accessible as a backup.
What browsers are supported?
TradingPlace works best on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari (latest versions). We recommend Chrome for the best experience. Mobile browsers are supported but a desktop/laptop is recommended for active trading.
