Trade Journal · Crystal & Above

Your Trades Are Already in TradingPlace. Now Review Them.

No CSV imports and no manual logging. The journal reads from the same live trade feed you execute against — annotate each trade, filter by account, replay on chart, and track the patterns that actually matter to your process.

Three Steps to a Better Review Habit

Designed to work during the session for quick tagging and after the session for deeper pattern review.

1

Trade in Cockpit

TradingPlace captures your orders and trade lifecycle in real time. Your journal is already being built whether you open it or not.

2

Add Context While Fresh

Tag the trade with setup type, emotion, followed-plan, mistakes, and notes — from the Cockpit trade card or the journal view, while the details are still clear.

3

Review, Filter, and Adjust

Filter by account and date range. Drill from monthly calendar to day to individual trade to spot what's working, what to stop, and what to build on.

Everything the Journal Includes

Account analytics, annotation tools, and chart replay — all reading from the same trade stream you're already using.

Trade Annotations

Notes, emotion tags, setup type, followed-plan checkbox, mistakes, lessons, and custom tags — all linked to tradeGuid so they survive account refreshes.

Cockpit Integration

Add or edit annotations directly from open and closed trades in Cockpit — the same journal record updates immediately with no separate window required.

More Useful Than a Spreadsheet From Day One

Manual journals get abandoned. This one works whether you open it or not.

Manual Spreadsheet Journal
  • CSV export required before every review session
  • Easy to skip logging after a bad trade
  • Numbers only — no way to replay the trade on chart
  • Flat list with no account breakdown or filter
  • Completely disconnected from your execution environment
  • Requires setup before any useful data appears
TradingPlace Trade Journal
  • Reads from live trade feed — nothing to export
  • Trades exist whether you annotate them or not
  • Chart replay per trade showing your actual execution
  • Per-account analytics with global filter control
  • Annotate directly from Cockpit during or after trades
  • Works from your first live trade — zero configuration

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The journal reads directly from your TradingPlace trade stream. Trades are captured automatically as they close across all connected accounts — no CSV export, no import step, no manual entry required.
The Trade Journal is included in Crystal and above. It shares the same account infrastructure as your live Cockpit, so all accounts and broker connections you have set up are available immediately in the journal — no separate configuration needed.
Journal entries are linked to accounts active in your production Cockpit. Playback and paper accounts run in an isolated environment and do not appear in the production journal — their data is managed separately within the playback system.
Yes. Note actions are available on user-source trades from the Cockpit while the position is live. The annotation attaches to the tradeGuid and persists when the trade closes, so your in-the-moment context is preserved in the same record you'll review later.
Yes. You can view all accounts together or use the account selector to focus on any subset. The selection is global — every downstream view (calendar, trade list, analytics) respects it, so you're always looking at the same account scope across the entire journal.
A focused chart window centered on your trade's entry and exit timeline, with execution markers overlaid on price action. You can see where you entered, how you managed the position (stop and target placement), and where you exited relative to actual price movement — useful for identifying repeated timing or management mistakes.
Date range and account filtering are applied globally across all journal views. Setup tags and other annotation fields are attached per-trade. The analytics section includes breakdowns by symbol so you can compare performance across instruments without manually sorting a list.
